Beautiful fluffy rug from one of our heroic cross sheep.
Years ago I took in a lot of herdwick sheep which many turned out to be in lamb. I did network to find good homes for a few but had to close my doors and let the rest stay as I just could not find the right homes for the rest

What goes into the making of these handcrafted felted fleece rugs/seat pads
It takes a year of love and care of the sheep, making sure they have all that they need.
Good quality hay, straw bedding, hard feeds, vitamins, mineral and salt blocks, wormers and fly strike solutions, vet care and the necessary drugs – right through to the shearing of the sheep, we watch over the sheep as they are sheared and we employ the most compassionate shearers to do the shop as stress free as possible.
The rug is then skirted, removing as much hay etc as possible from it, along with any dirty fleece. Its prepared and then hand felted using olive soap and water. The process is very labour intensive.
We then hand wash over and over until the fleece is super clean.
Once finished it is left to dry naturally then hand finished.

This rug is cruelty free, meaning its fully traceable back to the sheep that spent a year growing this fleece. (please note, felted fleeces online are not all fully traceable, just because it has no skin on the back like a sheepskin rug, does not mean that it did not die for meat etc )

We are home to around 300 rescued sheep, many are old which takes a lot more care to provide all that they need in their diets once they loose their teeth etc. We are also home to orphan lambs and special needs, ill or disabled sheep.
